A duality that is overlooked is between energy and the forms it manifests.
Energy is what drives the wave, while the forms are the fluctuations and undulations from which we get the information of frequency and amplitude.
As these biological organisms, we have the digestive, respiratory and circulatory systems processing the energy driving us on, while the central nervous system sorts through and organizes the forms and information precipitating out.
Galaxies are energy radiating out, as the forms, as structure and mass, coalesce in.
As these mobile organisms we have a sequential process of perception, in order to navigate our environment and as humanity, a narrative based culture, from telling of our journeys and accumulating knowledge. Consequently we think of time as the point of the present moving past to future. Though the reality is that change turns future to past. Tomorrow becomes yesterday, because the earth turns.
There is no literal dimension of time, because the past is consumed by the present, to inform and drive it. Causality and conservation of energy. Cause becomes effect.
So the energy, as process, goes past to future, while the forms, the patterns generated, go future to past.
As consciousness goes past to future, while the patterns it generates, thoughts and emotions, go future to past. Which hints that consciousness functions as an energy.
Thought and perceptions are clear, as such they are like the cresting of the waves, where frequencies and amplitudes are expressed. Yet that is when the wave starts to recede, so this clear present seems like a point in time.
Emotions and intuition though, are the pressure and temperature of the waves building and receding. So they are not clear, but much broader and deeper.
So we are driven by these desires bubbling up, seeking more fuel for the flame within, but then we have to chose what is the best course of action for ourselves and our larger world. So the mind has to referee the various desires. We can't have our cake and eat it too. Not every acorn gets to be an oak tree. We are part of nature's process of selection and if we fail at it, nature does the selection for us.
The anarchy of desire versus the tyranny of judgement. The heart and the head.
The only time they are truly one is when the flame dies out and the line goes flat.
