A recent comment I heard;

America is like maggots on a corpse.

The Democrats are rooting for the maggots. The Republicans are rooting for the corpse.

George Washington said, "The last official act of any government is to loot the treasury."

Given that has been going on for decades, possibly we need to look deep, in order to look ahead.

For one thing, humanity evolved in tribal cultures, where one's status was a function of what one added, not what one extracted.

Any functional society is a consequence of the inherent responsibilities of its members. With rights as reward.

It is just that when the US Constitution was being written, responsibility was still assumed. The irresponsible went hungry. So the debates were over rights.

To the extent society functions as a super organism, governments tend to form as a nervous system, while mediums of exchange, aka, money and banking, form as a circulation system.

We have evolved enough to understand government works best as a public utility.

Now it is the banks that are having their, "Let them eat cake." moment.

Consider Russia and China effectively went back to private government, with Putin and Xi as respective CEO's. Specifically to control their oligarchs.

Which is why our oligarchs and all their moral serfs hate them so much.

Just think, America's contribution to world history will be to have pushed all the significant countries of the Old World into the same corner, where they were forced to actually work together.

Meanwhile, when the dollar does implode and states have to start issuing and policing local currencies, foreign policy will be between Texas and California, etc.

Think Soviet Union, late 80's.

When the big tree falls, saplings grow up in the space.
