Actually it's more cyclical, than reborn. Expansion and consolidation. We are just linear, goal oriented organisms with a sequential process of perception in order to navigate, but time isn't so much the point of the present, moving past to future, as it is change, turning future to past. Tomorrow becomes yesterday, because the earth turns.
There is no dimension of time, because the past is consumed by the present. Causality and conservation of energy. Cause becomes effect.
So energy, as present, goes past to future, while the forms it manifests go future to past. Energy drives the wave, the fluctuations rise and fall.
As consciousness goes past to future, while the perceptions giving it form go future to past.
When we say space expands and contracts, what is measured is energy and form. The energy expands out, as form coalesces in. Like galaxies. So the space between galaxies appears to expand, in equal proportion to the rate it appears to contract within them. Omega=1.
Three dimensions are really just a mapping device, like longitude, latitude and altitude.
Space is infinity and equilibrium. The frame with the longest ruler and fastest clock is closest to the equilibrium of the vacuum, the unmoving void of absolute zero.
So space is like the number line, from zero to infinity.
Energy radiates toward infinity, as the forms it manifest coalesce toward equilibrium.
Cosmic convection cycles.
The James Webb will inconveniently keep finding ever further and older galaxies and our current cosmology will go the way of epicycles.
