Actually it’s only half math. The other half is energy.

Galaxies are energy radiating out, as form coalesces in.

We have the digestive, respiratory and circulatory systems processing the energy driving us on, along with that central nervous system to sort through the forms precipitating out and referee the emotions bubbling up.

The anarchy of emotion and desire pushes out, while the tyranny of judgement and order coalesces in.

Why can’t we put all the pieces in their boxes and not have them ooze out in the places we didn’t look?

Because the left, cause and effect, logical hemisphere of the brain only sees the shapes and forms of frequency and amplitude. Which have thus crested and are fading into the past. It is the thermostat/barometer of the right, emotional, intuitive side that senses the waves starting to build. Form versus energy.

As these mobile, intentional organisms, we experience reality as flashes of carefully edited perception, in order for it not to be a whiteout of waves of information crashing through our minds, so we think of time narratively, as the point of the present, moving past to future, but it is change, turning future to past. Tomorrow becomes yesterday, because the earth turns. Potential>actual> residual.

There is no physical dimension of time, because the past is consumed by the present, in order to inform and drive it. Causality and conservation of energy.

Different clocks run at different rates simply because they are separate actions. Think frequencies, or metabolism. We only assume there must be some universal time, because civilization is all about getting everyone following the same narrative, speaking the same languages, dancing to the same tunes, using the same measures, playing the same games, chasing after the same goals, etc.

Yet there is rabbit time, turtle time, tree time, etc. When everyone is playing by the same rules and chasing after the same goals, it is a race and everyone is on rabbit time. Though the turtle is still plodding along, long after the rabbit has died.

So the process churns along, past to future, while the patterns generated rise and fall, future to past. Consciousness goes past to future, while thoughts go future to past. Lives go birth to death, while life moves onto the next generation, shedding the old. Products go start to finish, while the production line goes the other way, consuming material and expelling product.

The feedback is the patterns define and direct the process, as the process drives the patterns.

Thermodynamics.
