Admittedly the internet has been hell on my attention span.

One book I do recommend is Gilbert Murray's, The Five Stages of Greek Religion. Sort of the birth pangs of Western civilization;

Another interesting read would be a book by Michael Hudson, called, Forgive Them Their Debts; The Collapse of Antiquity.

I haven't actually read it, but here is an interview at Naked Capitalism;

Here is an interview with Carver Mead, that is insightful;

I did buy the book, but the math was out of my league.

I did read a bit of Fritjof Capra back in the day. He was good at and gave me my early insights into the contrasts between Eastern and Western thinking.

The fact is there is just too much information available and my own attention span has become too distracted and disjointed now, to take the time to read books. It is necessary for developing a stable and reasonably solid foundation, but once you get a sense of the world, the growth is more what pushes up through the cracks and breaks down what you thought you knew, or makes it stronger.

Happy to be of help.

Bricks in the wall.
