My view is that we first need to clean out much of the clutter in the mental attic, before there is any hope of thinking much beyond the news cycle. Which is only getting shorter, with the deluge of the internet.

Time; As mobile organisms, this sentient interface our body has with its situation functions as a sequence of perceptions, in order to navigate, so our experience of time is the present moving past to future. The evident reality is that activity and change turns future to past. Tomorrow becomes yesterday, because the earth turns.

There is no dimension of time, because the past is consumed by the present, to inform and drive it. Causality and conservation of energy. Cause becomes effect.

It's bit like trying to explain the cosmos swirling east to west, before noting the earth turns west to east.

God; To the Ancients, gods were metaphors. Democracy and republicanism originated in pantheistic cultures. Monotheism equated with monoculture. One people, one rule, one god.

Constantine adopted Christianity for the monotheism as the sides of the Empire came together. Making the Catholic Church the eschatological basis for European monarchy. Divine right of kings, as opposed to consent of the governed.

When the West went back to popular forms of government, it required separation of church and state, culture and civics, morality and law.

Logically a spiritual absolute would be the essence of sentience, from which we rise, not an ideal of wisdom and judgement, from which we fell. The light shining through the film, than the stories playing out on it.

Money; As these linear, goal seeking creatures in this cyclical, circular, reciprocal, feedback generated reality, people see money as signal to save and store, while markets need it to circulate. Consequently Econ 101 refers to it as both medium of exchange and store of value.

Blood is a medium, fat is a store.

Roads are a medium, parking lots are a store. If we treated roads like we treat money, everything would be paved over, but we would still be fighting over the lots. The medium has become the message.

The Ancients devised debt jubilees as a circuit breaker to the feedback loop of compound interest, but because wealth and power always wants to leverage ever more wealth and power, we are stuck in the same doom loop.

Try getting anyone above the age of about 20 to think stuff like this through and their heads explode. For those under, it just messes with the indoctrination.
