Nature is always breaking things down and building them up. Yes, we are shitting our own bed.
The technology might be pretty evolved, but the sociology isn't.
To the half-wit alphas and their hordes of wannabes, hangers-on, prostitutes, etc, the killing and looting is the main act. The rest is just foreplay.
The problem for them is, there is no Plan B. So it's a matter of waiting until they reach the edge of the petri dish and the more organically stable cultures develop enough immunities, that they crash. Which looks to happen in the next couple of years. Then, maybe, humanity will take a deep breath.
We shall see.
