This is a bit off topic, but it goes to the basic psychology.

The basic point is that when they were first calibrating the redshift of other galaxies, they realized it increases proportional to distance in all directions. So if it's basic Doppler shift, it would mean we are at the exact center of the universe, or redshift could be an optical effect. The only known optical effect was some medium slowing the light, aka, tired light, but there didn't seem to be any other interference, so it was dismissed.

Then it was decided, based on the idea of spacetime, as the physical explanation for Einstein's theories of Relativity, that space itself must be expanding!

Which totally, completely ignores the essential premise of spacetime, that the speed of light is measured as a CONSTANT, in any frame. Such that if this intergalactic space is expanding, the speed of the light crossing it would have to increase proportionally, in order to remain constant.

Yet that would negate explaining redshift.

So two metrics of space are being derived from the same light, one based on the speed and one based on the spectrum.

If the speed was the presumed numerator, it would be a tired light theory, but as an expanding space theory, the speed is still the explicit denominator. The metric, The Ruler, used to measure this expansion.

I've raised this point in a fair number of physics and cosmology sites over the years and I would say the most common response is nothing, no argument, no acknowledgement of even hearing it. Even when I'd get some grudging acknowledgment, it wasn't as if it was going to change any minds. The herd had decided and the herd was not to be questioned.

They have added enormous physical patches, Inflation, Dark Matter, Dark Energy, to cover all the gaps that have emerged over the years, but the theory cannot be falsified, only patched.

So the fact that Israel has gone into this tribal group hug and no amount of logic or reasoning can penetrate the bubble, doesn't surprise me.

I could take it much further, that structure and knowledge is inherently centripetal and one has to accept there is no universal model, that models are inherently subjective, if one really wants to look outside Plato's Cave. So unless one is willing to look outside the particular frame, it only spirals ever further inward. Rabbit holes.

We apply different maps to the same spaces, backed by their own narratives. That is why wars are so fundamental. Then when it gets that everyone thinks their map is absolute, there can be no way to bridge the differences, as it would be against the religion to admit some other frame might have validity.

Epicycles were brilliant math, as a model of our view of the cosmos and given we are the center of our point of view, entirely valid. As it is, the same assumption still prevails, that math is some view into the mind of the universe and not just models of what we can see. All the "shut up and calculate" in the world is just so much garbage in, garbage out, if any of the premises are wrong.

So I really don't have much hope of expanding the Overton window on any of the varied subjects, I can only wait until they blow themselves up and hope some fragments of sense might grow in the cracks.

As for cosmic redshift, it has been shown that multi spectrum packets of light do redshift over distance, as the higher frequencies dissipate faster, but that would mean we are sampling a wave front and the quantification of light is an artifact of detection and measurement. A loading, or threshold theory. Imagine how that would go down, in Quantum physics.
