Back in the oughts, a saying among the Neo-cons was; "Everyone wants to go to Bagdad. Real men want to go to Tehran.

The US military did a fair number of simulations of attacking Iran. The problem was that Iran seemed to win every time. Which is probably the primary reason the US didn't "go to Tehran."

The problem for Israel seems to be, that militarily, they are an adjunct of the US MIC. Which means over invested in aircraft and under invested in offensive missile technology.

Those leaked documents would seem to verify this, in that Israel's supposed plan is air launched ballistic missiles. From apparently close enough to Iran that they would need inflight refueling.

Now those documents might be a ruse to divert Iran from some other strategy, or they could be a real effort by the Pentagon to prevent that wider war, that will likely mean shutting down the Persian Gulf to oil flow and, if the US gets drug in, missiles targeting the various bases and ships in the area.

In which case, Israel is getting its wings clipped, by the reality of the larger world not wanting to deal with the consequences.

In which case, they will likely take their temper tantrums out on Gaza and Lebanon.

We will find out in the next couple of weeks.
