Bacteria operate on an infinite growth formula. The problem is when they reach the edge of the petri dish.

The advantage of multicellular organisms is being able to sense and navigate their surroundings.

In forming social super organisms, people express forms of government as a nervous system. While methods of circulating value around the community also develop, aka, money and banking.

As cells within this entity, people tend to resent the power of government, while fawning over the possibilities of money. Which has given banks all the power. They are currently having their, "Let them eat cake." moment.

The only real job the flunkies allowed in office have, is running up the debt the banks need to grow metastatically. The secret sauce of capitalism is public debt backing private wealth.

While markets need money to circulate, people see it as signal to extract and store. Consequently Econ 101 refers to it as both medium of exchange and store of value. As well as price setting mechanism, which is a function of being a medium.

In your body, blood is the medium, while fat, as well as bone and muscle, are store. Try mixing them up and see how long you live.

Roads are a medium, parking lots are a store. If we treated roads like we treat money, everything would be paved over and we would be fighting over our lots.

The hallway is a medium, the hall closet is a store. The average five year old knows the difference.

As a medium, we own money like we own the section of road we are on, or the air and water flowing through our bodies. It's not our picture on it, we don't hold the copyright and, most importantly, are not responsible for its value, like a personal check.

It is a public utility. Its value is in everyone accepting it. As such, it is a social contract, enabling an economy, not a commodity to mine from it.

Large masses of people cannot effectively save individually, as it just creates endless asset bubbles and massive corruption. Societies have to save as the larger bodies they function as, through education, healthcare, utilities, roads, etc. Otherwise we revert to being bacteria.
