Capitalism is not synonymous with a market economy. When the medium enabling markets is privately held, we are all tenant farmers to the banks.

As the executive and regulatory function, government is the nervous system of the state. Money and banking serve as blood and circulation system.

With public government and private banking, the banks rule. So the only real job the flunkies allowed in office have, is running up the debt the banks need to grow metastatically. "The real money is in bonds."

The secret sauce of capitalism is public debt backing private wealth.

Thanks to Work War 2, the military is the only public works project the various factions can agree to, so it is the only tool in the tool box. Thus we are out playing cowboys and indians on the other side of the planet, while the country falls apart.

Russia and China essentially went back to private government, with Putin and Xi as respective CEO's, specifically to keep their oligarchs under control.

Which is why our oligarchs and their various clans of prostitutes hate them so much.

Meanwhile we just fight with each other and ignore the ones pulling the strings. Divide and conquer.
