Do you really mean to "let go of the baggage," or just learn to edit and contextualize it more effectively?
It seems that if we want to truly grasp the world around us, it's more about riding the waves, than dismissing them. I think there is a bit too much philosophic Xanax out there, aka, stoicism, where it's more about tuning out the problems we can't easily solve, rather than actually figuring out how to transcend them. Safe to say, our age is being given large mountains to climb, but most people are being told to hide in their safe spaces. While those with any authority are more concerned with preserving it, than daring to question the premises on which it is based and risking that authority.
I don't think the history books will treat this well.
