Eventually we have to clear out some of the cobwebs in the collective attic.

A spiritual absolute would be the essence of sentience, from which we rise, not an ideal of wisdom and judgement, from which we fell.

Good and bad are not some cosmic conflict between the forces of righteousness and evil, but the basic biological binary of beneficial and detrimental. The 1/0 of sentience. When we assume good to be aspirational, rather than elemental, conflicts become a race to the bottom, as all the evolved nuance, subjectivity and complexity is suspect.

Time is not the point of the present moving past to future, but change turning future to past. Tomorrow becomes yesterday, because the earth turns. It is just that as these mobile organisms, we experience our reality as a sequence of perceptions, in order to navigate. There is no dimension of time, because the past is consumed by the present. Cause doesn't just lead to effect, it becomes effect.

So we are these linear, goal oriented creatures in a cyclical, reciprocal, feedback driven reality and find ourselves chasing our tails in ever tighter circles and wonder why.

Yes, the train will go off the cliff. Hopefully those left to pick up the pieces will come to accept nature rules, not people and it's better to learn those rules, not just impose our own desires as the rule.
