Frankly I don't need dystopian fiction, when I can read the news for free.

The problem I find is that people are all too willing to seek solutions to problems as they arise, but it's a lot more difficult to get anyone to really step back and trying working out the causes.

Basically we are linear, goal seeking creatures in a cyclical, circular, reciprocal, feedback generated reality, so it's much easier to project from some of the more evident data points, than dig into the fundamental dynamics.

Here are three issues; Time, God and money.

We are mobile organisms, so our sentience coalesces as a sequence of perceptions, in order to navigate, therefore our experience to time is as the point of the present, moving past to future. Culturally developed as narratives and physics codifies it as measures of duration.

The reality is that change turns future to past. Tomorrow becomes yesterday, because the earth turns. Duration is the present, as the events rise and fall. It's like trying to figure out how the heavens go east to west, before realizing it's the earth turning west to east.

There is no dimension of time, because the past is consumed by the present, to inform and drive it. Causality and conservation of energy. Cause becomes effect.

Energy is conserved, because it is the present, creating time, as well as temperature, pressure, color and sound. Time is frequency, events are amplitude.

So energy, as present, goes past to future, while the patterns generated go future to past. Energy drives the wave, the fluctuations rise and fall.

Consciousness also goes past to future, while the perceptions, emotions and thoughts giving it form and structure go future to past. Though it's the digestive, respiratory and circulatory systems processing the energy, feeding the flame, while the central nervous system sorts the information, signals from the noise. So there is an intellectual tendency to think in terms of order and chaos, rather than energy and form, even though galaxies are energy radiating out, as stucture coalesces in.

God; Logically a spiritual absolute would be the essence of sentience, from which we rise, not an ideal of wisdom and judgement, from which we fell. Ideals are not absolutes and an entire culture formulated on the premise will be naturally divisive, for what should be apparent reasons.

Money is a social contract and accounting device, enabling mass societies, not a commodity to mine from them. It can't function as both medium and store. Blood is a medium, while fat is a store. They are not that interchangeable and assuming such is fatal.

Long story short, but the secret sauce of capitalism is public debt backing private wealth. The wars are just spillover. That's why they can be so inept and no one is taken out and shot.

I could go on, but, as I said, it doesn't seem like anyone is yet willing to really dig down into the foundations.
