Fred,
I don’t know that it’s excuses, so much as explanations, for why I seem to see things from a different point of view, than seems conventional.
Obviously I have the same sequential process of perception as any other member of the fauna family, but I seem to sense the process, as generating the patterns, rather than being able to really study the patterns. In that sense I am probably somewhat thick headed. Though that is as much a consequence of nurture, than nature. I simply grew up in a situation where I was one of the extras and was too fascinated by what was going on, to try to beat the system. So I simply ignored it as much as possible and hoped it ignored me, as I was exploring all the forgotten passages and heresies floating around the edges.
For instance, do you experience “floaters?” Those spots in the vision that seem to have a bit of a life of their own. I realized fairly early in life that they were other’s concentration, intersecting my own bubble and path of perception. That’s the sort of stuff I try mentally wrestling with, so for me, reality really is a wilderness, of which humanity has barely scrapped the surface.
