Fred,

It may be politics all the way down, but it's economics all the way up. Politics is the steering, economics is the motor. You say we need better steering and I'm saying that not only is the motor blown, but those responsible are siphoning the gas out of the tank.

We've pushed much of our manufacturing off onto third world countries. Why? So the stockholders and management can get more of the profits and most work is service.

We have a senile grifter for president and that isn't just the bureaucracy at work. That's those giving the bureaucrats fat jobs, once they've sold off their responsibilities. Our Sec of Defence might have been a general once, but it was his work for Raytheon that made him the big bucks.

Its like the relationship between the central nervous system, versus the digestive and circulatory system. You might think the brain is in charge, but its function is keeping the rest of the body happy.

We need to step back and look at the bigger picture, otherwise it's just re-arranging deck chairs on the Titanic.

In the contest between judgements versus desires, the brain is just refereeing the various wants and needs.
