Given that Israel so desperately wants that wider war, the Iranians, with the killing of Haniyeh, the negotiator for Hamas, have a very good reason to make this an enormous diplomatic issue and threaten to organize a walkout of the United Nations, if nothing is done to wrap Israel in a padded jacket.

Possibly start planning a counter organization. Turkey might be an ideal location, as bridge between East and West. I would imagine quite a few other nations would quickly get on board.
