Has it ever occurred to anyone that Wall St. couldn't function, without the government siphoning up trillions in surplus capital?

The secret sauce of capitalism is that public debt backs private wealth.

When the time comes that the government can't issue more debt, because no one is willing to take it, then those with the biggest piles will kindly offer to trade them for any remaining public assets and basically the keys to the kingdom. Disaster capitalism/predatory lending come home to roost. Then we get real oligarchy, not this behind the curtain variety.
