It is just that if one considers the most blatently corrupt aspects of the American Empire, military industrial complex, its political and media stooges, etc. Assange really is the focual point of their ire.

Remember I said that if you really want to understand something, consider what it is most reactive towards and other than Russia,China,Iran, etc, Assange really is the one person most in their crosshairs.

Murray wrote an article a few days ago, about the lengths to which they will twist any concept of the law to extradite him to the US and while I suspect they probably won't get him here before the election, his impending extradition will have to be somewhat more public than it currently is. Which would make a movement to write him in a direct repudiation of the system.

As it is, I personally cannot bring myself to vote for either Biden or Trump.
