He seems to make the same mistake as monotheism. Equating the ideal with the absolute.
Logically a spiritual absolute would be that essence of sentience, from which life rises, not an ideal of wisdom, judgement, power, asceticism, whatever, from which it has fallen.
The desire bubbling up, rather than the judgement defining it. The heart, rather than the head.
Life then is that tension between the anarchy of desire and the tyranny of judgement. This feedback loop between expansion and consolidation is how we grow and our ultimate definition and form is the planet. Our petri dish.
So it would seem life on this planet is evolving towards a singular organism, a Gaia Hypothesis. With humanity as the central nervous system.
Though it is function of a central nervous system to help and preserve the larger organism, not just lose itself in its own obsessions and addictions.
Maybe we are at the end of the beginning, rather than the beginning of the end, but it has been an extremely adolescent stage of rank immaturity.
