You are certainly welcome to question this as you wish. The only point I’m really arguing is that it is illogical to say space is expanding, rather than distance simply increasing, as with classic doppler effect, when it is based on a redshifted spectrum, as that requires a stable speed of light as the metric in which this distance is denominated.
These are just some interesting possible explanations I’ve encountered over the years.
