Here is another way to think about time and entropy.
We are mobile organisms, which necessitates this sequential process of perception, in order to navigate. so our experience of time is as the point of the present, moving past to future. As cultural narrative it provides the basis for society and physics codifies it as measures of duration.
The reality is that change turns future to past. Tomorrow becomes yesterday, because the earth turns. Duration is the present, as the events rise and fall.
There is no literal dimension of time, because the past is consumed by the present, to inform and drive it. Aka, causality and conservation of energy. Cause becomes effect.
Energy is conserved, because it manifests the present and creates time, as well as temperature, pressure, color and sound. Time is frequency, events are amplitude.
Time is asymmetric, because it is a measure of action and action is inertial. The earth only turns one direction. Entropy is a second order effect and not what is measured as time.
Different clocks can run at different rates, because they are separate actions. Think metabolism.
Some actions will synchronize and become one larger action, while others will harmonize and fill out the larger space. Organisms and ecosystems.
As process and present, energy goes past to future, while the patterns it generates go future to past. With a wave, the energy drives it, while the fluctuations rise and fall.
So while energy expands out, toward infinity, the information collapses back to equilibrium. Both of which are entropic.
Fading out, versus cancelling out.
