Here's a metaphor, about the situation in the Middle East;

When your computer is trying to run programs that are incompatible, it will freeze.

Maybe some two state solution will patch it, but probably not. So it has to be reset.

Now some are basically proposing World War 3 to erase all the incompatibilities and let the few billion left to work it out from there. Armageddon.

I think we need to go back and study the original program, to try debugging it;
