Hopefully the time to extract more information from our universe is fast approaching, with the hopefully successful deployment of the JWST.
If the universe were infinite and eternal, it would also appear flat.
When Einstein originally proposed the Cosmological Constant, it was to balance gravity causing all of space to collapse. What Hubble did discover is that space does expand. Between galaxies. In inverse proportion to it collapsing into them. Thus they balance out, to overall flat space.
In which case, the cosmic background radiation would be the light of even further galaxies, shifted off the visible spectrum.
So the question will be, what does the James Webb actually see, when it does start peering into that haze?
Will it be evidence of some primordial stage, or are those temperature imperfections at the microkelvin level details of ever further sources?
