How about cosmology, if we are talking about peeling back the edges of what's out there?

I will make a prediction(I'm going to do an essay on this, if and after it gets up.) that the James Webb Space Telescope will find the cosmic background radiation to be the light of ever further sources, shifted off the visible spectrum, not evidence of some initial state or event. That we live in an infinite, eternal universe.

Sometimes the interesting stories are how we fool ourselves and once we start to learn to take the blinkers off, it does get a lot deeper.
