I can certainly understand not wanting to be subjugated by anyone. Though the deeper issue really is financial corruption, not just political oppression. Government, as the executive and regulatory function, is analogous to the central nervous system and as such tends to be centripetal, putting society together in joint effort. While money and banking, as value distribution, is analogous to blood and the circulation system, essentially centrifugal.

While the West largely shed itself of private government, the hereditary oligarchy of monarchy, it has yet to question the efficacy of private banking and that has enabled the banking sector to gain control over the political mechanism, with no real geostrategic goal, beyond converting all possible value into currency and hoarding as much as possible.

The effect of which is turning all social strengths and resources of the world into some Ebola like putrid mush.
