I certainly agree Turkey has a lot of history that it's trying to live up to and its animosities towards many of its Asian neighbors run pretty deep.
That said, it does look like Erdogan's bubble has seriously deflated, so what will his next move be?
Given the growing split between East and West, it seems Turkey's more recent history and the zombie like predations of the Western banking system would make it very dangerous for him to turn back to them.
Meanwhile China is doing everything it can to further the BRI and logically would find throwing Erdogan a lifeline to be a positive step in that effort.
Obviously Erdogan is no one's poodle, so might he instead chose to be an pit bull, in this conflict? It would suit his personality and push Turkey more toward the front of the line in terms of the future Asian network.
As for the economic polarization building around the world, I see it as due to underlaying dynamics, that are not well examined.
When you are talking millions and billions of people, the common denominator is not so much culture, or politics, as physics and biology.
