It seems that is the real issue here. The degree to which rationality takes a far back seat to the Bronze Age tribalism Israel finds itself spiraling into.

Face it, a liberal democratic theocracy is an oxymoron.

There are centrifugal and centripetal aspects to, not just societies, as well as people in general, but to reality. The anarchies of desire, versus the tyrannies of judgement. Liberal versus conservative. Galaxies being the energy radiating out, as the structure coalesces in.

Which was expressing itself within Israel quite strongly, before Oct 7th.

That the Jews happened to find their tribal god as the grain of sand at the center of the pearl of Western civilization hasn't exactly been to their benefit.
