I didn’t get a reply to my earlier observation, that the original patch to Big Bang Theory, using the premise of spacetime to explain why we appear to be at the center of the expansion, because space itself is expanding, not just an expansion in space, completely ignores the central premise of General Relativity, of the speed of light being a Constant in all frames. (If it’s redshifted, intergalactic light cannot be Constant to intergalactic space.) So it is only worth noting this final paper in the series exemplifies where human imagination will go, when it is no longer grounded in a logical framework, but just glues together whatever bits and pieces fill the gaps in the theory.
At least epicycles were brilliant math, as they actually modeled what we see, from the earth. While our current theorists no longer even have that excuse.
All future generations of theorists are not going to spend their careers chasing down and speculating over untestable ideas and eventually sense will return. While the field might try to cram the current model down the memory hole, history will put it up there with the wildest nonsense over considered.
The future is as often reaction to the past, as continuation of it.
