I don't know that I personally go against the herd, given the degree to which my family is imbedded in this area. Merrymans came from a place called Monkton, in Herefordshire and two of the local towns are Hereford and Monkton.

Family legend is it goes back to Robin Hood and the family church is Sherwood Episcopal.

Which gives me the personal space to sit back and question why the world is such a mess, rather than having to be constantly stressed, as so many are.

While we might be fouling our own nest, the fact is the world will recover and some part of humanity. If they get their act together, life on this planet could become some super organism, with humans as part of the central nervous system.

I think we are more at the end of the beginning, than the beginning of the end.
