I don't know that the problem is the computer age, so much as it has accelerated some underlaying fallacies to the point of absurdity.
For example, the difference between capitalism and a market economy is that markets need money to circulate, while capitalism views the accumulation of it as an end in itself.
Basically nature is cyclical and circular, while people are linear and goal oriented, so we have turned the medium into the message. The tool into the god.
Blood is a medium, fat is a store. They don't mix well.
Information becomes abstracted from its phsyical basis, then distilled, quantized and consolidated into ever more concise and effective packaging, because "efficiency." Peak efficiency will be when we can do everything with nothing.
Basically just slow down and let the world finish learning this lesson.
