I seem to have become a contrarian. It wasn’t intentional, but while I was always part of the network, I wasn’t close enough to any nodes to really shape my world by them, so I had to improvise and try to make sense of things on my own. I have three main grips and various minor ones;

First on my list is time. We are mobile organisms and consequently experience our reality as a series of perceptions, so we think of time as the present moving past to future, yet the only reality is the present! It’s the events that go future to past! Tomorrow becomes yesterday, because the earth turns. Potential, actual, residual. Even physics codifies the narrative, by treating it as measures of duration between events, but duration is this present state, as events coalesce and dissolve. It’s proven to be far more of a complex point to make than would seem reasonable, but then this whole civilization thing is built on narrative. I find young people get it quicker than adults. Less indoctrination.

The next thing is God. Logically a spiritual absolute would be that essence of sentience, from which life rises, not an ideal of wisdom and knowledge, from which it fell. More the new born, than the wise old man, the consciousness seeking knowledge, than any formulation or brand of knowledge. The light shining through the film than any images on it.

This top down father figure lawgiver is a social and cultural construct, often necessary and not wise to really question among particular groups, but if we had less of an ideals based culture and more of a reciprocal and cyclical paradigm, we might better understand the nature we live in.

The last is money. It’s a contract, not a commodity. One side’s an asset and the other is a debt, so in order to save lots of it, we have to have equal amounts of debt. One way this is accomplished is to have the government borrow it up and spend in ways the private sector would never dream, but we will eventually find blowing up contrarian countries is not even as productive as colonialism.
