I think one thing we could give future generations is public banking.

Government, as executive and regulatory function, is analogous to a central nervous system, while money and banking mirror blood and the circulation system.

One coalescing the community into a larger functional entity, while the other presumably distributes resources around the community.

Synchronization versus harmonization.

Though within social realities, the forces pulling society together are often not the most competent, while those managing this circulation are not the most charitable and honest.

Michael Hudson wrote a book on this some years ago;

Basically that this tension goes to the dawn of civilization.

While we have come to see government works best as a public utility, the same principle also applies to banking.

When the medium enabling markets is privately held, we are all tenant farmers to the banks.

Eventually though, we will have to come to a much deeper understanding of how networks are best as organically grown, not institutions imposed from the top.

We will always be reductionist. Signals in the noise. It's just that the occasional reality check is required, when things get too out of wack. Like it is today.
