I think that under the socialization is a basic physical fact.
That the process of construction, whether societies or planets, is centripetal and that entails synchronization. Everything coalescing on the same wavelength.
The opposite is when these structures break down and the constituent energy radiates back out.
Fusion and fission.
Think how we build knowledge, by accumulating the information that resonates and synchronizes with our prior understandings. The signals we extract from the noise.
So the signal is structure and the noise is the ambient energy.
The building effect is like the growth rings of a tree, in that each layer isn't so much about that initial point of reference, the seed or original sapling, but simply building on and adding the prior layer.
Like we get our culture, religion, language, habits, etc, from our parents and the people we grew up around. This solidifies and stabilizes, then we find ourselves in the role of parents and mentors, passing on this structure of society to the next generation.
The problems now are that the young are growing up in a tsunami of information and the useful signals are lost in the noise.
So then there is this total questioning of everything. To the point puberty has become a fascist plot.
Another serious problem is that much of those original cultural institutions were patched together constructs that were more enforced through indoctrination than actual enlightenment.
Such that many of those old trees have hollowed out cores.
It would seem the Catholic Church would have normalized pedophilia, if it could, given the impulses and consequences of all that enforced celibacy.
"Next Year in Jerusalem" seems to be an unstable premise for European Judaism, now that it has started swirling down the various rabbit holes implicit in assuming one's cultural specialness.
In fact, the basic logical flaw with monotheism is that ideals are not absolutes.
Those core ideals, beliefs, habits heroes, creeds, narratives, etc that make up the center of every culture are ideals, not absolutes.
If morality were absolute, it couldn't be transgressed, like a temperature below absolute zero.
Morals are those ideals, habits, etc, that enable a healthy society. Traditionally that one's status would be a natural function of what one adds to the larger community, not what one can extract from it. That is parasitic and why current culture often is necrotic. Effectively to the point of economically eating its young.
While our technology has evolved, our social evolution has a long way to go.
