I think the James Webb will do to the Big Bang Theory, what CERN did to string theory and supersymmetry.

They will find the background radiation to be the light of ever further sources, shifted off the visible spectrum, in an infinite universe.

The implications to society, I can only imagine, given how deeply this theory has penetrated and how primordial the origin stories are.
