I think the main problem is we have assigned our Western theistic absoluteness to the bottom line.

We are linear, goal seeking creatures in a cyclical, circular, reciprocal, feedback generated reality, so it's all about that pot of gold at the end of the narrative arc, but the reality is more journey than destination.

Life has it's ups and downs, otherwise it would be a flatline, but we need to understand there have to be circuit breakers on the feedback loops, such as wealth and power leveraging more wealth and power, or the whole system eventually melts down, even for the wealthy and powerful.

When the ecosystem collapses, even, especially the top predators are vulnerable.

There is only so long you can cheat on the foundations, to put more gold in the penthouse, before it does more than just trickle down.

Some lessons have to be learned the hard way.
