I think there is a very basic dynamic, that has to be taken into consideration, between the centripetal and centrifugal forces at work in society.

That there have to be core codes, creeds, heroes, narratives as the gravitational center of any culture, or it will simply blow away in the winds of time.

Tower of Babel.

The problem is that there are multiple such possibilities. Monotheism was an effort to condense them, given that while pantheism and polytheism were premised on these multiple attractions, ideals, metaphors, it resulted in a fractious society. So the one core principle became handy.

Remember democracy and republicanism originated in pantheistic cultures, while Ancient Israel was a monarchy. Rome adopted Christianity to validate the Empire. The Big Guy Rules. While its more pantheistic elements, the Trinity, were obscured by the Holy Ghost.

Which became the eschatological basis for European monarchy. when the West went back to democracy and republicanism, it required separation of church and state, culture and civics. That's somewhat schizophrenic.

The real problem is that ideals are not absolutes. Truth, beauty, platonic forms are ideals. All those ancient gods were ideals. Those core codes are ideals.

The universal, on the other hand, is the elemental, so a spiritual absolute would be the essence of sentience, from which life rises, not an ideal of wisdom and judgement, from which it fell. The light shining through the film, than the stories playing out on it.

Morality is not absolute, given it couldn't be transgressed, if it was. Like a temperature below absolute zero. Morals are the ideals that enable a healthy and functioning society.

When we assume ideals as absolute, then there is no networking allowed, between competing systems. They all must defend their gods to the death. Even the most amoral assume their greed and lust for power to be absolute. Hence the world today.

One is the node, oneness is the network. In physics terms, "Entangled particles."

The node is synchronization, while the network is harmonization.

Resonance is feedback between these centripetal and centrifugal elements.
