I think various of our basic logical assumptions need to be revisited, as well.

Consider time;

As these mobile organisms, this sentient interface our body has with its situation functions as a sequence of perceptions, in order to navigate, so our experience of time is as the point of the present moving past to future. Which is the basis of civilization, as narrative and history, while physics codifies it as measures of duration.

The evident reality is that activity and the resulting change turns future to past. Tomorrow becomes yesterday, because the earth turns. Duration is the present, as the events coalesce and dissolve.

There is no dimension of time, because the past is consumed by the present, to inform and drive it. Causality and conservation of energy. Cause becomes effect.

Different clocks can run at different rates simply because they are separate actions. Think metabolism.

Because culture is about synchronizing everyone into one larger social organism, based on the same languages, rules and measures, it might seem like there should be one universal flow of time, but that is like assuming there should be only one frequency.

Nature is so diverse and yet integrated, because everything doesn't march to the beat of the same drummer. Rabbits and turtles.

Energy is conserved," because it manifests this presence, creating time, as well as temperature, pressure, color and sound. Frequencies and amplitude, rates and degrees.

So the energy goes past to future, because the patterns generated coalesce and dissolve, future to past. Energy drives the wave, the fluctuations rise and fall.

Consciousness also goes past to future, while the perceptions, emotions and thoughts giving it form and structure go future to past. Though it is the digestive system processing the energy, the nervous system sorting the information and the circulation system as feedback between the two.

Hence the tendency to obsess over the patterns, rather than the dynamics giving rise to them.

Which then goes in many other directions, such as materialism, the assumption of some reductionist state as basis, rather than the dichotomy of synchronization pulling in, as harmonization radiates out. Nodes and networks, organisms and ecosystems, particles and fields. Galaxies are energy radiating out, as structure coalesces in.

Which is the basis of our current obsession with the bottom line as the ultimate arbiter, creating vast feedback loops of wealth and power leveraging more wealth and power, but no circuit breakers to stop it all from imploding.

A medium is not a store. Blood is a medium, fat is a store. To store the asset side of the ledger, you need the debt and the secret sauce of capitalism is public debt backing private wealth. The wars are just a way to burn it off, so more can be borrowed.....
