I think we really haven't shed our physiological biases, particularly about time.

We are mobile organisms, so this sequential process of perception, that is how our conscious state manifests, is logically a function of navigation. So our concept of time is as the point of the present, moving past to future. The evident reality, with just a little perspective, is that change turns future to past. Tomorrow becomes yesterday, because the earth turns.

There is no literal dimension of time, because the past is consumed by the present, to inform and drive it. Causality and conservation of energy. Cause becomes effect.

Energy is "conserved," because it is the present. It creates time, as well as temperature, pressure, color and sound. Time is frequency, events are amplitude.

So "energy," as dynamic process and present, goes past to future, while the patterns generated go future to past. In terms of a wave, energy drives it, while the fluctuations rise and fall.

It is just that as these organisms, it is our digestive, respiratory and circulatory systems processing the energy, while the central nervous system sorts and orders the information. Signals from the noise.

Though emotions and instinct are more thermostat and barometer.

Consciousness also goes past to future, while the emotions and thoughts giving it form go future to past.

Consequently when we try to explain reality in terms of the information generated, it is like holding water in our fingers. The irony is that not only can't we conceptually grasp the energy, but the information vanishes as well. The future is nearly infinite, the present is small fraction of that and the past only a tiny residue of that.

Waves though, tend to synchronize, which is centripetal, or harmonize, which is centrifugal. So we get nodes and networks, organisms and ecosystems, particles and fields.

Synchronization compresses more energy into less information, thus ordered, while harmonization disperses energy out across much more information, so chaotic.

Gravity is centripetal and at the heart of galaxies are black holes, but what gets ignored about them, is there are quasars shooting out the poles. Quasars are giant lasers and lasers are synchronized light waves.

So mass is an effect of gravity, rather than gravity as a property of mass.

Going the other direction is back body radiation, which is all that energy flattened out to a general state of equilibrium.
