I think you tie them together in terms of waves.

We are mobile organisms, which necessitates our sentience coalescing as a sequence of perceptions in order to navigate, so our experience of time is as the point of the present moving past to future, though the reality is that change turns future to past. Tomorrow becomes yesterday, because the earth turns.

So there is no physical dimension of time, because the past is consumed by the present, to inform and drive it. Causality and conservation of energy. Cause becomes effect.

Energy is conserved, because it is present, creating time, as well as temperature, pressure, color and sound. Time is frequency, events are amplitude.

So energy, as the present, goes past to future, while the patterns generated go future to past.

Energy drives the wave, while the fluctuations rise and fall.

Consider as well that consciousness also goes past to future, while the perceptions, emotions and thoughts giving it form and structure go future to past. Rising and falling like so many waves.

Though it is the gut and circulation system processing the energy, feeding the flame, while the central nervous system sorts the information.

As such, thoughts are clarity and definition. We only know frequency and amplitude by the waves cresting. The clarity of the moment.

Emotions are the temperature and pressure rising and falling, that subconsciously drives us, pushing us along, building us up, pulling us down, etc.

Of course the feedback loops as this sentient interface between body and world relates and connects with its environment and the other beings in it push and pull us around infinitely, so we surf the waves at best. Sounds, colors, events...

What can cause problems though, is too much clarity and precision. Then we have edited away all context to achieve it. The noise is context for the signal. When we erase it, the signal loses its relationships and meaning.

The world is both analog and digital, binaries and spectrums. When we quantify everything, we lose the dynamic connections driving it.

Defaulting to math to explain physics is like a computer driving a car. It works great, up to a point. Epicycles were brilliant math, as description, while the crystalline spheres were lousy physics, as explanation. Occasionally we have to peel away the old maps and models, like dead skin. Maps versus territory.

Synchronization is centripetal, while harmonization is centrifugal. Nodes and networks, organisms and ecosystems, particles and fields.

Even galaxies are energy radiating out, as structure coalesces in. Gravity is centripetal and those eye walls at the center and quasars shooting out the poles are synchronization.

We fluctuate in the middle, where the feedback is most complex.
