I wouldn't stress over it that much. Once this 40 year bubble of compounding debt pops, the coastal elites will find it gets all too real.

Debt doesn't matter, until it does. Maxed out their credit card, the home loan and now the banks are questioning the kited checks.

Money is a social contract which enables mass societies, not a commodity to mine from them.
