If there is one thing we could logically examine and change, it would be the basic paradigms, on which human civilization is based. Yet those are what we will most deliberately cling to, when the world is collapsing around us.

We have an ideals based culture, where if some is good, more must be better, from knowledge, to morals, to wealth and all the other preferable states. Yet the reality is more cyclical, reciprocal feedback between polarities; public and private, global and local, capital and labor, liberal and conservative, specialized and generalized knowledge, reductionism and contextualization, patterns and processes, nodes and networks, etc. As there is no cultural appreciation for reality as the balance and tension of these polarities, the middle ground is a mindless battlefield.
