If we don't blow ourselves up, the West will have to do some basic reflection on the nature of reality.
Good and bad are not some cosmic conflict between the forces of righteousness and evil. They are the basic biological binary of beneficial and detrimental. The 1/0 of sentience.
Life grows bottom up and when the system breaks down, those on top have the furtherest to fall.
Yet without the ups and downs, it's a flatline anyway. We have some serious lessons to learn.
Having sat back and watched this build for the last 50+ years(I'm 63), here are a few of my thoughts on how it all works;
