I'm sure that very small error is still larger than can be extracted from the quantum level, but the point remains. Our obsession with exactness conflicts with an inherently dynamic reality.

One other, similar point; I've never quite figured out Planck length. Unless there is a degree of measurement that is absolute, if not much smaller than said Planck length, wouldn't the error bars be as large as this supposedly smallest measurement?

We want perfect maps of a changing territory.
