Isn't the larger problem that Ukraine sits on that fault line between East and West, so that either it finds a way to become the bridge, or it becomes the battleground?

The fallacy of monotheism is that a spiritual absolute would be the essence of sentience, from which we rise, not an ideal of wisdom and judgement, from which we fell. The light shining through all the film, than the myriad images on it.

Think back through the history of Western civilization and consider all the wars fought over ideals assumed to be absolutes.

Remember democracy and republicanism originated in pantheistic cultures and Rome only adopted Christianity as the Republic had long faded and the Empire needed validation.
