It does seem everything has a beginning and thus an ending, but some process must generate these entities?
Time is not so much the point of the present going past to future, as it is change turning future to past. Potential, actual, residual. Tomorrow becomes yesterday, because the earth turns.
There is no physical dimension of time, because the past is consumed by the present, in order to inform and motivate it. Causality and conservation of energy.
So there is just this physical present and because we are mobile organisms, we experience it as a sequence of perceptions, as a function of navigating it. Plants don’t have this process of perception and judgement, because they don’t need to decide which path to take.
Consequently we think of time narratively, but as an effect of activity, it is more like temperature, pressure, or color, than space. Think frequencies and amplitudes.
We could use ideal gas laws to correlate volume with temperature and pressure, but no one calls them the 5th and 6th dimensions of space, because they are only foundational to our emotions, bodily functions and environment, not the sequence of thought.
On the other hand, if we take all physical properties from space, it still has the non-physical qualities of infinity and equilibrium. Infinity, because there would be nothing to bound it and equilibrium is implicit in General Relativity, as the frame with the fastest clock and longest ruler is closest to the equilibrium of the vacuum. The non-moving void of absolute zero.
So space is the absolute and the infinite.
What fills space is energy and the forms being manifest. Energy expands and propels, while form coalesces and defines. Galaxies are energy radiating out, towards infinity, while mass/form coalesces in, towards equilibrium, where all positives and negatives sum out, as the energy is shed and radiated back out. The black hole/eye of the storm, at the center.
As energy is “conserved,” it is always and only present and its changing configuration creates the effect of time.
Thus the process generating forms goes past to future forms, while these patterns rise and fall, future to past.
Consciousness goes past to future, while thoughts and feelings go future to past.
Lives go birth to death, while life goes onto the next generation, shedding the old.
Even products go start to finish, while the production line goes the other way, consuming material and expelling product.
The feedback being the patterns define and direct the process. Manifesting and delineating. Motor and steering.
As these mobile organisms, we have the digestive, respiratory and circulatory systems processing the energy driving us on, along with a central nervous system to sort though the information precipitating out and further order and condense it, as well as referee the emotions bubbling up.
So the heart and gut desire more fuel for their fire, while the head has to modulate and moderate this drive. The anarchy of desire, versus the tyranny of judgement.
Fluctuating between the absolute and the infinite.
Space is nothing and everything.
