It is relative to our situation. I think we are hardwired to look for problems. That it's the function of the central nervous system to solve them. If everything was always hunky dory, we would still be happy little tadpoles swimming in our puddle. Things can be 95% right, but it is the 5% wrong that can kill you.

Right now we have a culture seemingly intent on self destruction. So the problem we are facing is, Why?" and, "How do we figure out the flaws in our social programming?" Both those intentionally instilled to control large populations and those that simply outgrew their usefulness.

Consider that for culture, good and bad are some cosmic conflict between righteousness and evil, while in nature, it's the basic biological binary of beneficial and detrimental. The 1/0 of sentience.

That's because it's the function of culture to get the entire society functioning as one organism. Synchronizing the behavior, with the same languages, rules, measures, etc.

Yet nature consists of many organisms, all marching the beat of different drummers. Synchronization versus harmonization. One coalescing in and one expanding out. Like two dynamics of galaxies.

That's why nature is so diverse and so integrated.

Yet most people are stuck in their various cultural brands, beliefs and codes, so trying to tell them to look beyond them and see how they function in that larger dynamic mostly causes adverse reactions, as they both feel threatened and assume you are stupid to question the totems of their beliefs.

Here are a few of my more recent essays, trying to peel away some layers;

I repeat many of the same ideas and try to work them into various angles of the situation, so there is lots that can be skimmed over, because it's a work in progress. The powers that be are certainly determined to tear down this current civilization, so the aim is to offer up some conceptual foundations for the next, when it is time.
