My sense is the biggest long term danger to Israel is not those attacking it, but those defending it at all costs. Literally religiously. It has created a sense of self confidence that a more realistic assessment would find dangerous.

Better the reality checks happen regularly, than avoided until they can't be avoided.

When the feedback loops don't have circuit breakers, it spirals down the vortex in the middle.

As it is, it seems Israel's long term strategy is either the Samson Option, or sacrificing more red heifers.
