It's the issue of time.

As mobile organisms, this sentient interface our body has with its situation functions as a sequence of perceptions, in order to navigate, so our experience of time is the present moving past to future.

Yet the evident reality is that activity and the resulting change turns future to past. Tomorrow becomes yesterday, because the earth turns.

There is no dimension of time, because the past is consumed by the present, to inform and drive it. Causality and conservation of energy. Cause becomes effect.

It is like a tapestry being woven of strands constantly being pulled from what was woven.

So while our minds might function as that sequence, it is more of grabbing a mind full of information and digesting it. Expand and consolidate. Like rings of a tree.

The signals our minds pick out of the noise are what resonates and synchronizes with our prior knowledge, like those rings of the tree, each building on the prior.

The problem is that if it gets to be too much of an echo chamber, we do go spiraling off into some dream state, so the larger reality is constantly providing us with circuit breakers to keep us connected.

The node is synchronization. Everything on the same wavelength.

The network is harmonization. All the waves smeared out across infinity.

Between black holes and black body radiation.
