You are right that framing the discussions in conventional terms cedes primacy to convention. I am somewhat self educated. Having decided not join the “rat race” at a time when that term was first coming into common use, I’ve had decades to think through what is going wrong. I tried laying out this broader picture in the first essay I posted to medium, about a year ago;
And yes, it does come across as “crazy,” from a conventional perspective, but then the logic is fairly basic, it just goes in an entirely different direction.
What I’m saying is that there is too much momentum to change the trajectory of the present, so it should really be more about laying the groundwork for a positive vision of what comes next. Otherwise we are just patching old beliefs, models and frames.
